Only Swims estimates pool volume and chlorine dose. Keep free chlorine at 1–3 ppm. With 10% liquid chlorine, about 12.8 fl oz raises 10,000 gallons by 1 ppm, so a 19,200-gallon pool needs about 49 fl oz to go up 2 ppm.
Rectangle: length × width × average depth × 7.5. Round: diameter × diameter × average depth × 5.9. A 24-foot round pool that's 4 feet deep holds about 13,594 gallons. Gallons drive every chemical dose.
Keep free chlorine around 1–3 ppm and pH between 7.2 and 7.8. Test at least a couple of times a week in summer, more after storms or pool parties. Clear water still needs testing.
Drowning can be silent and fast. At every pool party, pick one adult as the 'water watcher' who puts the phone down and watches swimmers, and swap every 15–30 minutes. Fences and life jackets help too.
Rinse off before getting in the pool. Sweat, sunscreen and lotions use up chlorine and leave less to fight germs. Clean swimmers equal clean water.
A 24-foot round pool, 4 feet deep, holds about 13,594 gallons. To raise free chlorine 1 ppm with 10% liquid chlorine, add about 17 fl oz. Retest after the pump runs a while.
